I simply cannot understand how people could think having Down Syndrome is a bad thing.. comments like.. “he doesn’t look like he has Down Syndrome” “he must only have a little bit of Down Syndrome” “he just seems normal” are all comments that are usually meant with the best intentions but imply to me that they believe having Down Syndrome is somehow “less”. Having Down Syndrome is what makes Remy, Remy, the same as you maybe having piercing blue eyes or curly blonde hair for instance. Those features don’t make you less do they? Do you believe that someone with a high powered intellectual job is more of a person than someone who is maybe working class and works hard cleaning your home or selling you the food you need to feed your family? No! We all have our own skills and we all contribute to society in different ways but we are all needed. We are all equal, we all come into this world the same way and we will all leave the same way too. We are all unique and our differences should be celebrated! Because remember the world would be such a boring place if we were all the same.
